Excellent items and Luck
What it is
Some of the gear that drops comes with something extra. Two identical Swords can differ: one plain, one Excellent, one with Luck. Options belong to the piece and travel with it through mail, the Account Chest and the auction house.
Only what drops rolls: monsters, hunting, exploration and the dungeon chest piece. Shop, Grocery, crafting, quests and achievements never do.
Excellent
- 8% of dropped pieces are Excellent; of those, 25% carry 2 options and the rest, 1.
- Legendary pieces are always Excellent, with 2 options.
- The name gains "Excellent", the frame turns green in the bag and the options show in green on the item sheet.
- Auto-recycle never recycles an Excellent piece.
A piece never repeats an option. Weapon and accessory roll the offensive ones; helm, chest, legs, gloves, shield and cape roll the defensive ones. The same option on different pieces stacks.
| Offensive (weapon, accessory) | Defensive (the rest) |
|---|---|
| ATK +3% | Max HP +4% |
| ATK + your level | Max MP +4% |
| Critical +4 | Damage taken −4% (up to −20% stacked) |
| Speed +5% | Reflects 5% of damage taken (up to 25%) |
| Recover max HP/8 when defeating an enemy | DEF +5% |
| Recover max MP/8 when defeating an enemy | Material drop +15% (up to +60%) |
Luck
10% of dropped pieces come with Luck, Excellent or not. Luck gives Critical +2 and +25 chance points when refining that piece (70% becomes 95%, 40% becomes 65%; never above 100%). The Forge shows the chance with Luck included.
Tips
- An Excellent piece a bit below your level can beat a plain one at your level — compare on the item sheet.
- A Luck piece is the best one to push to +10: the higher chance saves Protection Seals.
- At the auction house, look for the Excellent badge and the green lines on the listing's sheet.
